Levels of Inspection Service

Cornell Environmental Solutions realizes the problems that are faced by home owners, business owners, realtors and home buyers, and follow strict standard and protocols that have been formed and used in the mold inspection by the Certified Mold Inspector. All of the services have a clear understanding and written explanation, within the inspection agreement, of what will be inspected.

1. Limited Sampling: The purpose of Limited Mold Sampling is to detect the presence of mold contamination in Client Defined areas of the home or office. This service provides a fast, economical method to determine if and what type of molds are in that defined area. The limitations of this service are that other sources of mold may be present in the home or office.

2. Mold Screen: This level of inspection utilizes a visual assessment of the entire home or office, identifies “red flags” for mold, and a limited sampling for mold. If “red flags” are found, the client will be advised and offered the chance for additional sampling. The Mold Screen inspection is the most popular inspection service for home sale transactions.

3. Clearance Testing: Clearance Testing is designed to determine the success of remediation (clean up process) efforts. This final testing procedure provides confirmation that the project has been satisfactorily remediated and that contamination has not spread to other areas.

Note: If there is mold growth in your home, you must fix the water problem and clean up the mold. If you clean the mold, but do not fix the water problem, the mold will grow back.

If the contaminated area involved is large, you may wish to consider hiring a professional.

To find out if mold is a problem in you home or office, Cornell Environmental Solutions will perform a visual inspection, based on the type of inspection performed, the mold circumstance will be evaluated, action can be planned to get it cleaned up and prevent future contamination.

Based upon site evaluations and sampling lab analysis results, your inspector will provide a detailed written report that can be used for disclosure and references. In all situations, if mold exists, the underlying cause of water damage must be corrected.
